Story of Ajrakh
The art of Ajrakh is a timeless expression of tradition, patience, and craftsmanship. Originating from the Kutch region of Gujarat, Ajrakh is more than just a textile — it is a living heritage passed down through generations of skilled artisans.

Each Ajrakh creation begins with a simple piece of fabric and transforms into a work of art through meticulous hand block printing. The process involves multiple stages of washing, dyeing, and printing, often taking up to 14–16 intricate steps to complete a single design. What makes Ajrakh truly special is its use of natural dyes derived from the earth — indigo for blue, madder root for red, turmeric for yellow, pomegranate rind for green, and iron rust for black. Every color and motif reflects harmony with nature, symbolizing balance and rhythm in life.
The iconic geometric patterns and symmetrical designs of Ajrakh are inspired by the stars, rivers, and flora of the desert landscape, representing a deep connection between the artisan and the natural world.
At RangiloCrafts, we honor this ancient craft by blending its traditional essence with modern elegance. Each Ajrakh piece we create carries the soul of its maker — a story of heritage, sustainability, and artistry that celebrates India’s cultural richness.
Ajrakh is not just a print — it’s poetry in color, crafted by hand, and preserved with love.
